Sport Participation Intern 26 /27
This role is part of the MGIP and as such application need to be made through the portal –
UoM Sport, based in the Directorate for the Student Experience, deliver an annual programme of social and recreational sport for our university students and staff. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic graduate to support the delivery of this programme. The programme will deliver a variety of activities at times and locations to meet the need of our audiences and engage students in activity for the very first time. The sessions will strive to break down the barriers to participation allowing students to learn a new sport, meet new people and have fun without commitment or competition. In doing so these activities will help aid the physical and mental health and wellbeing of our university communities. The successful candidate will plan, organise and administer activities, advise on suitable sessions, book facilities, communicate opportunities as well as ensuring there is a suitable workforce to lead the sessions. They will work closely with other members of the UoM Sport team to create a seamless link between the programmes to ensure that students in all years are aware of the offer and have the opportunity to take part in regular activity. The candidate will plan and produce content for UoM Sports media platforms, ensuring promotion of programmes and activities reach the widest audience. The sport development team and facilities staff based at Armitage Sport Centre will support this role.

The University of Manchester (UoM) is working in partnership with the Rugby Football Union (RFU), to grow Rugby and recreational sport at the University of Manchester.
UoM Sport is looking to appoint a University graduate as a Rugby Development Intern to organise Rugby programmes targeted at those players outside of the BUCS representative level, both internally and across the region.
The successful candidate will coordinate and develop relationships with partners across the institution as well as the RFU, internal schools and departments, local community rugby clubs and the University Rugby teams. They will co-ordinate the effective administration of these relationships to ensure that both the RFU and UoM Sport targets are met in regards to participation and retention. The candidate will also support the development and organisation of UoMs wider recreational sport programmes.
We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic and engaging individual with knowledge of the Higher Education sector, specifically within Rugby and ideally with a good understanding of the wider sports environment.
The successful candidate will get access to a range of personal development to meet their future career aspirations including support towards sports coaching and officiating as well as the opportunity work and link with a major National Governing Body in the RFU.

UoM Sport are looking for energetic sport enthusiasts to assist the Recreational Sport Coordinator with running the participation sport programme (Sporticipate) for the academic year.
The main responsibility of this role is to manage and maintain the participation sport programme throughout the academic year as the representative from UoM Sport, with support from the Recreational Sport Coordinator.

- Women’s Netball – Sugden Sports Centre, Tuesday and Wednesday evening
- Women’s Football – Armitage Sports Centre, Thursday evening
- Mixed Hockey – Armitage Sports Centre, Sunday evening

Casual Fitness Instructor (£12 ph)
UoM Sport Operations are seeking interested candidates for casual work at the Armitage Sports Centre on the Fallowfield Campus.
You must be experienced in working in a busy sport / leisure / fitness facility and hold a current NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Fitness Instruction. REPS/CIMSPA membership is also desirable.

Sport Centre Assistant
The University of Manchester has over 16,000 students and staff taking part in organised sport and physical activity through the University. The University recognises the importance of an active lifestyle in both the experiences that these opportunities provide our audiences as well as the positive impact that they have on their wellbeing. Delivery of our sport and physical activity strategy is through UoM Sport which is based across our campuses primarily in Fallowfield at the Armitage Sports Centre and in Manchester University Students’ Union on Oxford Road.
Our activities take place across the city utilising a range of city facilities in supporting our community being active and promoting physical activity opportunities through our facilities and programmes. The university therefore is looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to work as a Sport Centre Supervisor. As part of the Sport operations team and in liaison with the Sport Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the facility, maintenance of the indoor and outdoor site and a high quality experience for all users. We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic and engaging individual to join UoM Sport to support our students and staff being more physically active in our programmes and facilities.
